Last Tuesday when I return back home from night course. It was extremely jammed and all the cars stuff along on the road. Look at picture above this is the side lane thrust to main road. Next to the wall rock is reverse direction and there are the ways out for U-turn.
I noticed a cab drove in reversing direction to main road and put on double signal. After that, there are many cars follow the same even they knew it’s break of traffic rule.
I’m not interest share with you what they did wrong. For thousand of years, people believed that is was impossible for a human to run a mile in less than four mins. A lot of people built this generalization and imprinted this belief as anyone who tried had failed. Doctors reenforced this belief through expressing from their report of the human physical structure that it was impossible to achieve this action.
Then in 1954, a gentleman named Roger Bannister defied to believe this. He built a new belief that it was possible. After lots of training mentally and physically, he achieved this purportedly impossible deed. Nonetheless, isn’t the awesome matter. What’s exciting is that until Roger Bannister accomplished this deed, for thousands of years no one could do it.
Eventually, within a year of Bannister’s breaking the record, thirty-seven other runners did it as well. On the following year, additional three hundred did the same. Why? Because Bannister’s achievement destroyed people’s limiting beliefs that it was impossible.
Why so many people follows the cab driver? It’s an incorrect belief but we are always used this wrong belief to support our excuse.
